Continue to ensure that the voice of Ward 5 is heard loud and clear at City Hall. I do my research, am well prepared asking tough questions and demanding clarity to ensure the rural viewpoint is heard and policies are written with this consideration in mind.
Hold another rural summit to review progress we have made on rural issues since 2024 and plan additional changes and improvements to service delivery in rural Ottawa.
Work with the newly expanded Rural Affairs Office and new Rural Liaisons in each department to ensure that all reports, memorandums, and plans have considered rural implications and provide a rural lens at every stage of policy development.

Continue to support agricultural operations and protect agricultural land and work with local farmers and our local chapter of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture.
Support smaller-scale energy projects that don’t take up viable farmland or jeopardize sensitive rural land. Make sure these projects provide appropriate, timely public consultation, and take a strong position against projects that fail to meet these standards.
Oppose urban boundary expansions into Ward 5.
Support and encourage development that respects the character of our rural villages and community.
Review the secondary plan for the Village of Carp with the goals of strengthening greenspace protections, encouraging development that respects the village’s character, and managing intensification.

Will support budget increases and additional hiring for emergency services.
Push for increased spending on road maintenance and renewal, and ensure that City staff prioritizes the roads the community has prioritized.
Will advocate for a simple secondary emergency exit from Constance Bay.
Support and advocate for waste-to-energy incineration for garbage.
Expand and increase funding for the wild parsnip program.
Will work to review community associations' base funding and ways to speed up capital funding for renewal of their assets.
Will advocate for private transportation solutions and partnerships to connect Ward 5 residents to urban and transit hubs, while also supporting local employers by helping employees get to rural areas.
Will work with Solid Waste Staff to bring the City's hazardous waste drop-off events to a more convenient location for Ward 5 residents.

Ensure the implementation of my motion to bring back a public-facing City staff directory and organizational chart.
Advocate for better general communications and coordination from the City when it comes to rural projects or road closures.
Advocate and work with colleagues and staff through governance review to have reports released to the public much earlier in the process to give more time for feedback and consideration.
Ensure that projects are prioritized with community and councillor input, not just on City staff’s data and opinions.
Continue open office hours, quarterly meetings with CA leadership and town hall meetings across Ward 5 with relevant City staff present.
